The Winery
In the heart of Chianti Classico, land of ancient wine tradition, the Bonomonte Estate rised in 1982. The Formichi Family, with their love for the land and passion for wine began their vine-growing adventure with a single purpose: to transmit emotions.
In a setting of rare beauty, with a medium altitude of about 300 mt above sea level, the Bonomonte Estate naturally enjoys a microclimate that revolves around winemaking. The property of more than 200 hectares, of which 40 are cultivated with vines, represents a great and versatile legacy. Every 12 hectares of vines are alternated with expanses of grain, and lovely woods.
37 hectares planted with red grapes (Sangiovese, Canaiolo, Colorino and newly planted Merlot and Cabernet Sauvignon) the rest are planted with white grapes (Trebbiano Toscano and Malvasia Bianca). Average age of plants: 25 years. Density of plants: 4,500 to 5,500 per hectare - spurred cordon cultivation system
Our products are the result of a great passion and dedication. With great faith in the potential of the native vines, we strive to interpret the rediscovery of the typical characteristics of our land and its scents, colours and elegance that make us proud to be Tuscan.
Our carefully restored farm houses and barns to rent, were made in order to share with you unique moments.
