The Winery
Nestled in the hills of Italy's Chianti region, La Gigliola winery extends over approximately 300 hectares of land, 60 of which are covered with vineyards and 40 of which consist of olives groves.
"Quality based on tradition" is the motto of the Piazzini family, the owners. Through the combination of history, tradition and progress, they are aiming to top quality wine production. The wines are also appearing on the acclaimed wine guide Gambero Rosso. The ancient wine-growing experience and the special qualities of the vineyards belonging to the estate guarantee that at 'La Gigliola' these results are fully achieved.
Sangiovese vines are mostly grown, but also other red grape varieties are cultivated such as Canaiolo, Merlot, Cabernet, Syrah, from which we make exquisite red wines. For our white wines, we grow Trebbiano, Malvasia and Sauvignon Blanc grapes.
From the year 2000, the owners of La Gigliola have restored a series of lovely farmhouse accommodations located in completely independent structures on the property. All of them are tastefully furnished and very comfortable. Fattoria La Gigliola has achieved top ranking for its hospitality in the field of Agriturismo.
